Shalford Badminton Club is a friendly village badminton club.
We play for fun and fitness, because we like badminton, and not for leagues or competition. There is only one court at the village hall, so we only play doubles to maximise play time for everyone. There is typically a short wait between games, which can be appreciated if you’re playing for 2-3 hours!
The club meets every Thursday from 7 o’clock until late, and members drop in and out during that time. We run most of the year but all dates for the current season can be found on the home page.
Our members are players of all abilities, from casual to club level. New members are welcome but we are unable to offer training for complete beginners as we only have one court. If you have played previously, you will be fine, but complete novices may want to have some lessons before attending.
We play in the Village Hall in Shalford, Surrey. Shalford Village Hall is right by the pond in the middle of the village, about two miles to the south east of Guildford.
The season’s subscription is currently £80 for around thirty evenings from September to April. New members joining part way through the season will be charged pro-rata.
Alternatively come along and try an evening or two first, currently at £4 per night.
